The LGBTQ Young Professionals Network (YPN) of Maryland will present a panel discussion on starting, growing and maintaining a booming business while being out in corporate America. The event takes place on Dec. 2 from 7-8:30 p.m. at MiY Home, 1605 Eastern Ave., in Baltimore. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for networking. YPN connects emerging LGBTQ professionals with the business community by offering opportunities to build leadership skills, expand networks and raise awareness, all while supporting the LGBT Health Resource Center at Chase Brexton.

Panelists for the discussion include: Betsy Cerulo, CEO of AdNet/AccountNet, Inc.; Dave Imre, partner and CEO of IMRE; Kenneth Knight, Jr., president and CEO of Baltimore International Black Film Festival and SOGAA Inc.; Brandon Schenk, director of meetings and education programs and supplier innovation of the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce; and Michael Ryan Wright, co-owner of MiY Home, a gay-owned furniture and bedding store. “This panel of LGBTQ entrepreneurs really celebrates the achievements of our community in business, and I think it will inspire future leaders and current entrepreneurs to move forward with their own dreams and aspirations,” Nate Sweeney, executive director of the LGBT Health Resource Center at Chase Brexton, told the Blade. Light refreshments will be provided and a donation of $20 is suggested. For more information, email LGBT@chasebrexton.org.
