Chase Brexton Names New Officers, Members to Board of Directors

Chase Brexton Health Care’s Board of Directors recently named new officers and four new members, who will help oversee its five centers across central Maryland and their care of more than 40,000 patients.

Elected by the board as officers were Juan Negrin, President; Kathy Ward, Vice President; and Russ Montgomery, Treasurer; the Rev. Paula Teague will continue as Secretary. Each will serve a two-year term, ending Dec. 31, 2022.

Negrin has served on the board since January 2017, and is a Project Management Professional and Epic-certified Information Technology leader. Ward, a board member since 2017, possesses 34 years of experience as a manager, case manager, educator, and staff nurse, and currently works in the Care Management Department of Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.

Montgomery joined the board in 2019 and is the Director of Health Economics and Market Access for North America at Ambu, a Danish medical technology company. Teague, a board member since 2016, is the Senior Director of Spiritual Care and Chaplaincy for Johns Hopkins Health System.

“In my three years as a board member my appreciation has continued to grow for the health needs of our patients and the dedication of Chase Brexton's exceptional clinicians and staff members in providing compassionate, quality health care that honors diversity, inspires wellness and improves our communities,” Negrin said. “As chair, I am honored to have the opportunity to continue to collaborate with my colleagues on the board in supporting this mission to the best of our abilities, and in the belief that everyone's health matters.”

Joining the Board of Directors are:

  • Jessica Obayan – Obayan is a licensed social worker with more than eight years’ experience providing programmatic and technical guidance to community health and social welfare programs.
  • Alaysia Phillips – Phillips is the Senior Quality & Innovation Project Administrator for the Clinical Communities, Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety and Quality within Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.
