(5/18/22) Chase Brexton Health Care’s 2022 gala, “Six: From Monarchy to Musical to Maryland,” succeeded in raising more than $315,000 to support two new Chase Brexton programs.

This royally unique gala was inspired by the Broadway musical “Six,” a modern re-imagining of the lives of Henry the VIII’s six wives, and took place at six exclusive house parties, or “castles” across central Maryland on Saturday, May 14. In addition to more than 350 attendees across the six “castles,” virtual registrants viewed a program detailing Chase Brexton’s recent work and new initiatives. That video is available to watch here.

“This unique event was a royal success,” said Alexa Milanytch, Chase Brexton’s Director of Development. “We’re so grateful to all those who got their crown on with us at one of our castles Saturday night, all those who chose to join us virtually, and our amazing sponsors. By hosting this event in six locations, we reaffirmed our commitment to all the communities we serve, and gave our supporters a sense of the scope of our important mission.”

Proceeds from the event support two Chase Brexton programs: the new Center for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion; and Every Meal Matters, established to provide healthy, nonperishable boxed food to Chase Brexton patients. Thanks to the generosity of our gala participants, these programs will receive a combined total of close to $200,000.

Two Chase Brexton Health Care employees were honored during the gala with the Dr. Ronald J. Taylor Award, recognizing staff members who embody the mission of Chase Brexton. Robert Fisher, Clinical Informatics Manager, received the award for fiscal year 2020, and Non-Clinical Educator Alkema Jackson, received the award for the 2021 fiscal year. In addition, Moveable Feast received the 2022 Community Partner Award; CommonHealth Action received the 2022 Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Award, and Dr. Leana Wen, MD was honored with the 2022 Healthcare Hero Award.

The 2022 gala was made possible by presenting sponsor Gilead, with additional support from top sponsors CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, Quest Diagnostics, Visualutions, Johns Hopkins Medicine, Kaiser Permanente, LabCorp, M&T Bank, Verizon, as well as underwriters of the event: Abbvie, Janssen, Arris Design, BRG, Brown Advisory, Devaney & Associates, Venable, AdNet, Allied Universal, Apovia RX, Athena Health, Franklin Templeton, PSA Insurance, Seyfarth Shaw and Joseph R. Damato, T.Rowe Price, UnitedHealthcare of the Mid-Atlantic, and media sponsors Baltimore Magazine and WBFF Fox 45 Baltimore.

A special thanks also goes to the Gala Committee co-chairs, lifestyle architect Anthony Evans and Dr. Yvette Oquendo, Medical Director of CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, as well as the entire Gala Committee.
