Psychiatry is the medical specialty devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness. Chase Brexton’s psychiatrists focus primarily on diagnosis and treatment with medications. Available at the Mt. Vernon Center. Infectious DiseaseAn infectious disease is a condition in which a person’s body cannot function normally because of the presence of an infectious agent, such as Hepatitis, Gonorrhea, Herpes, or HIV. Infectious diseases, particularly those transmitted sexually, are a special focus at Chase Brexton. We have five infectious disease specialists on staff; they have additional training in this field, though all of our medical staff are able to provide high quality care for these conditions. Available at all locations. PodiatryChase Brexton provides podiatry services one morning a week at the Mt. Vernon Center. These services are available only by referral from a Chase Brexton medical provider. Services are focused on maintaining foot health through preventive care. Because services are limited, priority is given to patients with diabetes and other illnesses that increase the risk of foot disease.
