Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) Health CareChase Brexton Health Services was founded in 1978 by Baltimore's gay communities. Today, it continues to be one of Maryland's only LGBT-focused health care organizations. Our vision is to expand our services for our LGBT communities and to create for all our patients an open and honest environment for health care. Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Health Care For over 30 years Chase Brexton has been providing health care services to lesbian, gay, and bisexual individuals in an open and affirming environment. We do not assume the sexual orientation or gender identity of any of our patients. Our understanding of LGBT-related health issues helps us to make sure you are informed and empowered to lead a healthy life. Think it's not important to have sexuality- and gender-affirming health care? Learn more about the importance of health care that places value on who you are at the Gay and Lesbian Medical Association's website. Transgender Health CareWe know that many transgender people receive inadequate health care or, worse still, no health care at all. It is important to Chase Brexton that we reach out to the transgender community to bring more transgender patients into care. Chase Brexton’s providers are trained to offer health care specific to the needs of transgender people and to prescribe transgender hormone therapy, as appropriate. Our providers adhere generally to the Harry Benjamin Standards of Care.
In addition to transgender-specific care, we encourage our transgender patients to utilize Chase Brexton's comprehensive care including mental health care, addictions treatment, dental, and nutritional services.
